MC Home

When I first moved into my new apartment I was overwhelmed with the daunting task of buying furniture.
But now it has become actually fun to find special pieces to create a space that is truly me.

Since it's a studio, the bed pretty much dictates the rest of the apartment.
Once I had my bed in place, it was easy to envision what else I really needed.
There is a lot of natural light (I'm excited about my low electric bill!)
so I wanted to keep the decor light, airy and colorful.
I decided on a loose color scheme of white, black, tan/cream,
turquoise, and my fave color - purple. (Look familiar?)

I spent last weekend scouring thrift stores and vintage shops for a dresser.
After hours of searching, my friend and I were feeling defeated. I then turned to Craigslist and
found the perfect shabby chic dresser...white, distressed, and had mix-matched Anthropologie knobs!

As for a coffee table, I wanted something unique to add a playful vibe to the space.
Enter: a one-of-a-kind turquoise coffee table I found on Etsy.
I am literally obsessed with this coffee table. When I woke up this morning,
I rolled over and smiled right when I saw it.

My apartment is the definition of a work in progress, so stay tuned for what I find next!

MC MIA

I'm sorry I have been MIA from my blog lately. I just moved into my
new apartment and there was a huge fiasco with setting up my cable/internet.
As a self-proclaimed TV-whore, the past week has been torture!
But I am happy to announce I have returned to the world!

I have been consumed by decorating my new place. I own literally no furniture
after moving to LA a few months ago, and only being able to bring what would fit in my car.
I have been on Pinterest non-stop getting ideas and furniture shopping for hours.
As I settle in, I will share decor posts. Stay tuned!

Scarf Headband

I never wear my hair up, unless I'm at the gym or cleaning my bathroom.
So when I went to Huntington Beach this past weekend I wanted to find a way
to wear my hair down but still keep it tamed from the ocean breeze.
Enter: the silk scarf turned headband.
