My Nighttime Skin Care Routine

 I have noticed such a huge difference in my skin tone and texture the past few years since really fine-tuning my nighttime routine. I have paired down the numerous products I used to slather on, and now only focus on the scientifically-proven ingredients (retinol & vitamin C!). Below you'll find my quick skin care regimen.

{1}

Remove Makeup

Verse Cleansing Balm

The first step is to remove my makeup. A couple years ago, I switched to a cleansing balm instead of using the wasteful wipes. I think the balm works just as well and it's better for the environment.

Cleanse

Cetaphil Daily Face Wash

The double-cleanse is a game-changer. Cetaphil is super gentle and makes sure any remaining dirt, makeup, etc. is washed away.

Serum

Neutrogena Retinol

Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C Serum

It is not recommended to mix retinol and vitamin C so I prefer to rotate them every other night. These products offer a great balance to reduce fine lines and combat the uneven skin tone I developed after struggling for years with acne.

Moisturize

Aveeno Positively Radiant Gel Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

The nights I use retinol, I actually mix it with my moisturizer to make the retinol a bit gentler. Retinol combined with hyaluronic acid is a powerhouse for your skin!

When I use the Vitamin C serum, I wait about a minute to let it soak in, then add a thin layer of moisturizer to seal in the goodness.

When applying moisturizer, be sure to apply gentle pressure as to not tug your skin (especially around the delicate eye area!). And always spread the products down to your neck.

I use the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask any time my skin needs an extra layer of moisture - for example after doing a charcoal face mask or an exfoliating mask, etc.
